Kimber applied and interviewed for a position in Stavanger, Norway, and was told she would be getting an offer. So it looks like we will be moving from our home in Ohio.
We've been doing some early research into all the things we need to do before leaving. We will be putting a large part of our home furnishings in storage, so we are trying to think about what goes and what stays. We also are going to have a huge garage sale to get rid of a bunch of stuff before we go. We will put the money earned aside to purchase stuff once we return to the States. Our cars (except the 55 Ford) will also be sold, as it is apparently very expensive to import a car to Norway.
We don't yet know the time frame for the move. It will most likely be in March. Kimber and I will travel over once before then to reconnoiter the housing, etc. The company won't pay for Sidney to go on that trip, and it will be easier to get things done with her not there (though we will miss her terribly!)
One unanswered question right now is what I will be doing for a job. I finished my Master's in Nursing last May, and have been working in the ER as a nurse since. I was also recently promoted to Unit Team Leader (Charge Nurse). While I am looking forward to the move and agreed to it no matter whether I end up with a job or not, I would like to continue nursing there. I don't know for sure if it will be possible, but I know before I can even consider it, I have to become fluent in Norwegian. So the language studies have begun!
Until the next update...
